Overview : Hong Kong, Guiling, Yangshou, Shanghai, Xian & Beijing. This 15-day journey unravels China's enriched history, irresistible landscapes, and deep-rooted traditions.
Tour Highlights :
A highlight of this trip is a visit to the charming little town of Yangshou, where we will have the opportunity to explore rice paddies, fish farms, local villages and beautiful mountainside landscapes up close. This excursion combines the sights of fabulous Hong Kong Island, a relaxing cruise down the Li River with the marvelous Terracotta Warriors in Xian and historical attractions in Beijing.
Itinerary :

Day 1 MON

DEPART HOME TOWN/HONG KONG

Today we board our flight to Hong Kong.

Day 2 TUE

ARRIVE IN HONG KONG

We arrive in Hong Kong and transfer to our hotel for check - in.

Day 3 WED

HONG KONG

Today we will be taken on a morning tour of fabulous Hong Kong Island, covering everything from the heights of Victoria Peak, with its stunning views over the harbor, to the market at Stanley and the colorful harbor of Aberdeen. The afternoon is free for shopping or sightseeing at your leisure. (AB)

Day 4 THU

HONG KONG / GUILIN

This morning is open for shopping or further exploration of the city. In the afternoon, we board our flight to scenic Guilin and check-in to our hotel. (AB)

Day 5 FRI

LI RIVER CRUISE/YANGSHOU

Unwind on a relaxing cruise down the scenic Li River. Along the way we pass through charming villages and stunning mountainous scenery. Disembark at the charming little town of Yangshou with free time to browse around or just relax in the street cafes. Afterwards, check - in to our hotel in Yangshou. (AB/L/D)

Day 6 SAT

YANGSHOU

We head out into the countryside for a change to explore rice paddies, fish farms and beautiful scenery up close. stop for lunch at a local village before returning to Yangshou with free time for relaxation. (AB/L)

Day 7 SUN

YANGSHOU/SHANGHAI

Return to Guilin and tour dramatic rock formations at Fu Bo Hill and Reed Flute Cave. Afterwards, fly to Shanghai. On arrival, stroll along the Bund promenade, a lively riverside stretch lined with colonial buildings. The highlight of tonight's entertainment is a visit to the acrobatic show. (AB/L/D)

Day 8 MON

SHANGHAI

In the morning, we discover the fascinating Shanghai Museum and the neighboring People's Square. Explore the Yu Garden, featuring the garden architectural style of the southern part of China during the Ming and Qing dynasties. Then, wander through the Old Chinese Quarter with its bustling markets. The remainder of the day is free to relax or use your free time to explore Shanghai's emporiums at Nanjing or Huai Hai Road's popular shops. (AB/L)

Day 9 TUE

SHANGHAI / XIAN

fly to Xian, home of one of the most famous archaeological sites in the world - the Terracotta Warriors. Upon arrival, we will be taken on a tour to see the ancient city wall, built in the Ming Dynasty on the original foundations of the Tang Forbidden City Wall. In the evening, you will be treated to an entertaining dinner show. (AB/L/D)

Day10 WED

TERRACOTTA WARRIORS

In the morning, we take a short drive east to one of the true wonders of ancient China, the Terracotta Warriors near Xian. Housed in three underground vaults, some 7,000 figures of warriors and their horses originally made more than 2,000 years ago are display. We will also get a change to witness the Circle Vision Documentary on the history of the site. We visit a number of the different vaults before returning to the city to visit the Great Mosque and the 7th century Big Goose Pagoda. Tonight, dine in the comfort of your hotel. (AB/L/D)

Day 11 THU

XIAN/BEIJING

This morning, we fly to Beijing, the capital city of China. Upon arrival, check - in to our hotel and take some time to relax. We spend the afternoon at the exquisit Imperial Summer Palace, a de facto museum of China's classical architecture with an immense collection of treasures and cultural artifacts. In the evening, enjoy one of the most popular dishes in China at the Beijing Duck Dinner Party. (AB/L/D)

Day 12 FRI

BEIJING

We travel northwest of Beijing to visit China's most famous attraction - the Great Wall of China. Built over 2,000 years ago, it stretches 4,000 miles across mountains and valleys in the northern part of China. We walk along a well preserved section of this true wonder of the world, and enjoy the panoramic views. Stop by a silk factory before we settle down in our hotel for a free afternoon. Take advantage of free time to browse through Beijing's bustling night food markets. (AB/L/D)

Day13 SAT

BEIJING

This morning, we walk through the vast Tiananmen Square, the largest public square in the world. Continue to the magnificent Forbidden City, which was home to the Ming and Qing dynasties for over 500 years. In the afternoon, ride on a pedal-powered cab and tour through Beijing's traditional courtyard neighborhoods where old traditions remain very much alive. We will have the opportunity to visit the home of a local resident and stop for a visit of a local school (where in session). Tonight, enjoy an entertaining "The Legend of Kung Fu" show. (AB/L/D)

Day14 SUN

BEIJING

This morning, head out to the southeastern art of Beijing as you visit the sacred temple of Heaven, once used to pray for Good Harvest. In the surrounding park areas, observe local residents playing traditional instruments, engaging in games of Chinese chess, or even just chatting amongst their friends. This afternoon is yours free to enjoy the city. (AB/L)

 

Day 15MON BEIJING/HOMETOWN

After breakfast, transfer to the airport and board your flight home. (AB)
