The Summer Camp in Shiga invites children from the U.S. to explore Japanese culture through hands-on experiences. Activities include interacting with local children, school visits, and learning about rural life at a farmhouse, including farmwork and cooking. Children will also engage in crafts to appreciate the value of handmade items. The program features visits to Hikone Castle and sightseeing in Tokyo and Kyoto, emphasizing Japan's rich history and culture. This unique experience aims to foster friendships, curiosity, and lasting memories beyond traditional tourism.

With 117 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, over 1,600 Buddhist temples, and more than 400 Shinto shrines, Kyoto is the perfect place to immerse oneself in the rich culture and history of Japan. Today, we'll have the chance to explore a selection of these important cultural landmarks.

The last day of Summer Camp. Return to the United States.
Today is the final day of the summer camp. We will take the bullet train (shinkansen) back to Tokyo, and the camp will disband after saying "sayonara" to Japan and each other at Haneda Airport.
